Ghost writer!

I keep hearing things about how Shakespeare used a Ghostwriter... somehow it just seems unrealistic to me.  I mean, come on historians, he's a fictional character.

Silly Hats and Dancing Killbots!

More bits and bobs I did for Cup o' Doodle!  Followed by some sketchbook and some drawings on free paper!  I love free paper!

Captain Reynolds was less than pleased with the
respect commanded by the new uniforms.

Thank goodness Killbot decided that dancing
was simply more fun than his prime directive.

Oh free paper, you're the best.

Oh and I made a tumblr also - http://roboch.tumblr.com/
At this point it's more or less the same as this thing, just tumbly... it might turn into something else eventually once I figure out what I want to do with it.

Plugbeast!

Look what I found on the porch today! I stumbled upon a wild plugbeast!  These elusive, blind quadrupeds can occasionally be found under desks - usually near power strips.  Needless to say upon finding it I caught it in a jar and released it into a local electronics store where it will be happy and well nourished.

Or, well, in reality I discovered some ancient phone chargers in a drawer and decided that since they weren't much good at charging any phone I still own I might as well turn them into something useful.  And by useful I mean purely decorative with no real practical application.

Here's some process because I think that's neat:

I rather like that last fellow too...

What became of the other charger you ask?
Well, more on that later.

Sketchbook!

Today we have some sketchbook funtime experiments with a big ol fat black marker which I firmly to be THE BEST (see Figure A1) and a white gel pen, which is pretty cool too.  Other things were also involved, but those are the main ingredients.

Fig. A1

Oh, and turtles.

Have a lovely day,
Rob

Assorted Doodles and Sketches

Doodles and sketches!  Sketches and doodles!  The following are things I've done for another blog I post on -  Cup o' Doodle.

Annnnnnnd I've recently been made aware of the joy of drawing on sticky notes, which I might start making a habit of.

In other news I  (far more covertly than intended) attended CTN out in sunny Burbank and had an absolutely fantastic time.  It was lovely meeting all of you wonderful people that I met and seeing all of those wonderful people that I already knew!

Be well :)

Onward! Into the darkness!

It would appear our friends are not alone...

So these two fit in right before the last image of the post before this.

The Further Adventures of Spaceman and Spacehorse!

Picking up in one of the many places I've left off, we find our heroes entering a cave.  You know, that one cave from that other picture.

There actually is some vague semblance of a narrative that goes with all of this Spaceman business.  Conveniently for the viewer I have so far delivered it entirely out of order, with tremendous gaps, and nowhere near enough information to actually build anything out of.

I may or may not fix that.

Feeding the Blog

Oh no, what have I gone and done.  I neglected the Blog and now it's hungry.  Time to feed it I suppose.

So here's a spot of teamwork between myself and my (unreasonably talented) friend Christina Ellis.  She doodled up this little beastie over here and I got all painty with it.

And a couple of table scraps:

Still hungry little guy?

I'll take that as a yes.

Some Figure Sculpture I Never Posted

I've been re-arranging/compiling my portfolio over the last couple days and I stumbled on a couple figure sculptures I never got around to posting.  The top one was the first chance I ever really got to take my time with a sculpture, definitely a really great experience.  Both sculptures are approximately 24 inches tall.

Collaboration: Cowboy Time

So my buddy Scott Denton (alternatively Scotty D.) handed me this loose pile of polygons here to design on top of:

And here's what I did with it:

I recommend checking out Scott's work over at http://www.likesyrup.com/ - good business.

This is likely not the last you'll see of this fellow.

At the Mountains of Beard

With a hunger that knows no end, the beard expands, extends, inhabits, animates.  The man no longer grows the beard, the beard grows the man.  The beard grows the horse, the troll, the house, the countryside.  The beard grows all.

Don't ask where that house/beard found a mace that big - I don't know the answer to that question.

In other news, we have a guest viking today from the marvelous Christina Ellis

Yes.

Full Metal Beard

It all seems harmless enough.  A symbiotic relationship, a partnership.  One feeds the other, they both stand to gain something.

However, as the balance is disrupted, and the beards grow stronger, they begin to overwhelm their hosts... take control.

There is no hope.  There is no escape.  Only beards.

There will be more of this.

Heart of Beardness

Our descent into bearded madness continues.  It only gets more ridiculous from here.

Something Bearded This Way Comes...

Here are studies/experiments for a personal thing I've been working on:

Oddly enough these are all part of one thing.  It'll make sense eventually.   ... probably.
