Babe Lincoln
This was intended for the 4th of July, but, well, things are kind of busy at work. Better late than never.
Either way, it also lives here, on this fantastic pile of stupid:
Yes.
Sorry.

Cup o' Doodle!
Hello again internet! Quite a bit of jumbling going on in the whole... life ... thing right now. As regularity returns, it is likely that so will the internet posting of things that I make. I am making quite a pile of things right now, but they're mostly things that are TOP SECRET due to PROPER EMPLOYMENT (which I'm quite excited about). Still though, things get made on the side
In any case, on to things that might actually interest people. I've recently joined a blorg curated by a Mr. Don Flores, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's called Cup o' Doodle and lives over here. It involves making drawings out of little abstract fiddly bits, is a great deal of fun, and here are some things I drew for it.
Or, well, Don drew this:
Which I turned into this:
and then into this:
And this came from something too. But there's really no explaining that.

Mostly brush experimenty playtown going on.
Anyway, more in the future.

Catherine!
Hey, remember all that figure sculpture I was posting a while ago? Well that hasn't stopped happening in the meantime. So in no particular order over the next ... err... arbitrary amount of time, there will be some figure sculpture. Who knows, maybe some painting too.
Anyway, here's Catherine:
I know it's a little ridiculous but I was really happy with how the signature came out on that one. Mmmm blackletter.
and here's a full turnaround, conveniently (or obnoxiously) compressed into one enormous jpeg.
Anyways, I'm not dead, and there's more where this came from.

Castle Spacenstein!
Hello internet! Things have been very busy on my end of things lately. Reasons for business include/have included but are not limited to: a car crash! (fortunately nothing serious), a gallery opening! (unfortunately nothing serious), freelance and more! Regardless of any of that, here is some more SPACE!
The most likely extraordinarily beautiful Spaceprincess has been abducted, and Spaceman and Spacehorse are on the case (spacecase? is that too much?). This is for some reason obviously the handiwork of the dread Space Dracula... who is honestly, despite the odd bit of abduction here or there, generally regarded as a pretty nice guy.
The culprit is clear and so is the crime, but the question remains ... why?
So our heroes journey to Castle Spacenstein for answers.
annnnnnnnnnnnd because i'm in love with texture here is a detail of essentially nothing at an absurd size:
Some figure sculpture may return to the blog shortly.

Sketchbook: Commutants!
So, as some portion of you might know I commute to and from Manhattan every day to go sculpt naked people. It involves two trains and a subway, usually populated largely by business people in suits. Frequently they're asleep. To occupy my time I draw them, frequently while they sleep.
At first I just drew them as they were... then we migrated into caricatures. By now, after almost a year of doing this, we've moved into full on mutants. Personally I'm most pleased with the progression.
And now, without further ado, I present to you some commutants. We have...
Also, here's a little detail of something i'm in the middle of.

More Spacestuff!
Upon entering the space cave our heroes, Spaceman and Spacehorse, find themselves separated from one another during an exciting and dramatic sequence involving a bridge and some bat creatures (not pictured). Spaceman then wanders the caverns for weeks (weeks!) in search of his dear companion, only to find him in great peril!
Apparently locked in combat! Attempting to fend off the mighty Spacetroll! What will become of our beloved equine adventurer? Find out next time (note: that is unlikely) on the adventures of SPACEMAN AND SPACEHORSE: IN SPACE!
Also, here's a little experiment I painted up today. Would you care to shake his hand?
Yours truly,
Rob

The sketchbook says hello. It also says smelly.
Some fiddly bits from the sketchbook! Monsters!
Humans!
And to close out. My friend bought a lovely, thick black marker, and I wondered to myself... is it smelly? To check if it was, this happened.
"And was it smelly?" you might ask. To which I would answer: yes. Yes it was.
